Care for your Capsules
Now that you have invested in protecting your POPs there are some things you should know about protecting your investment. See below on how we protect your POPs when we handle them.
Don't treat your capsule like the bathroom mirror.
Acrylic should not be treated like glass.
Acrylic is completely different from glass and should not be cleaned with household glass cleaners, or normal cleaning cloths. These cleaners contain ammonia or alcohol, both of which cause damage to acrylic. Over time they will cause acrlyic to fog and turn yellow. Also, using rags or even paper towels can cause scratching of the acrylic. Being that the usual problem you have with handling your graded POPs is getting fingerprints on them, you should use a combination of microfiber gloves to hold the POP, and a microfiber cloth, with an acrylic cleaner to get them sparkling. Use a cleaner that was specifically formulated for cleaning acrylic.
Normal glass cleaners, like Windex and Formula 409 are great for glass, but, over time and repeated use, they can ruin acrylic. Never use a cleaner that has ammonia or alcohol. The chemicals in these cleaners can cause acrylic to fog and yellow. You need to use a cleaner that is specifically for acrylic. And don't use mom's cleaning rags or paper towels.
Not only will cleaner wreak havic on your capsule, but regular cleaning cloths, paper towels, and Handi-Wipes can hold dust and particles that can scratch your acrylic capsule. You shouild only use a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth to clean your capsules. Here is the best way to clean your VVGS capsule. First, since you don't want to put fingerprints right back on the capsule you are cleaning, you should wear a pair of our cleaning gloves. Then simply wipe down the capsule with just the microfiber cloth. Many times this will take care of small smudges or fingerprints. If more cleaning is required, spray some VVGS Capsule Cleaner either directly on the capsule, or spray it on your microfiber cloth. Then simply wipe down the capsule rubbing all six sides.
